BREAKING NEWS: Robert J. Abalos Creates Opening for Service of Process, Wage Garnishment, and Asset Seizure by Aggrieved Customers

UPDATE: ON OR AROUND APRIL 16, 2009, ROBERT J. ABALOS WAS TERMINATED FROM HIS JOB AS "ONLY THE INTERIM-ONSITE MANAGER" WITH WATERMARKE APARTMENTS. IF YOU KNOW WHERE HE LANDS NEXT, PLEASE LET US AND THE KING COUNTY SHERIFF KNOW. THANK YOU!

Verifiable news regarding the whereabouts and activities of Robert J. Abalos has been rather limited over the past year.

As you may recall, the “world famous attorney” who to this day claims to be “a professional investor, author, and public speaker on real estate issues…[whose] book, INVESTING IN LAND, is the most widely sold real estate book in publishing history with sales in more than 91 countries around the world,” was disbarred in 2008 by the Virginia State Bar and received a letter or two from the Washington State Bar threatening legal action against him for unlawfully acting as an attorney in the State of Washington. These legal actions were all due to Mr. Abalos' well-documented criminal behavior in taking in money from consumers for the online sales of his books, magazines, forum subscriptions, and seminars but then not fulfilling his side of these transactions by actually delivering the products and services for which the consumers had ordered and paid.

Historically, all aggrieved customers seeking to address these matters legally with Mr. Abalos have been stymied by his use of a U.S. Post Office box as his address of record, which made it difficult to serve lawsuits and other legal process documents on Mr. Abalos. Furthermore, scant record of Mr. Abalos having a source of legitimate, job-related income has made it difficult for holders of court judgments against him to engage the King County Sheriff to tap Mr. Abalos’ earnings through garnishment of his wages and/or to seize any eligible assets of value he may own.

Today is a new day.

We are pleased to announce to all members of the Robert Abalos Revealed Community that Robert J. Abalos has made himself available for the service of legal process and for wage garnishments and asset seizures by his taking of a new job with The Watermarke Apartments in the Belltown area of Seattle, Washington. Since Monday, March 23, 2009, Robert J. Abalos has served as the apartment’s Onsite Building Manager and now resides in one of the building’s 61 units.

Thankfully, a new and valued Robert Abalos Revealed Community member sent in a tip to this website as to Mr. Abalos’ new role at the building. The tip has been verified through Mr. Abalos having started (yet another) blog to communicate with his new residents (http://watermarkeapartments.blogspot.com), his use of Craigslist.com to advertise units in the building available for rent (http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/apa/1117190210.html), and his familiar use of ‘dead giveaway’ aliases to cheerlead or promote anonymously online (see “John M.” at http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-watermarke-apartments-seattle).

As of today, any aggrieved customer wishing to serve another lawsuit on Mr. Abalos and any court judgment owner wishing to engage the King County Sheriff to garnish Mr. Abalos’ wages and/or to seize any eligible assets of value Mr. Abalos may own need simply direct all process servers and the Sheriff to the address of The Watermarke Apartments in the Belltown area of Seattle. This address is widely available online by searching the apartment name on Google.com or by reviewing the links above.

(IMPORTANT NOTE: on his new Watermarke blog, Mr. Abalos proudly informs his residents that he owns a car and then informs all court judgment owners who have an interest in the financial value of said car exactly where it can be located for seizure, towing, and then auction by the King County Sheriff.)

We hope this post serves as a valuable tool to all members of the Robert Abalos Revealed community. As always, we will continue to post verifiable information regarding Robert Joseph Abalos until Mr. Abalos has refunded all aggrieved customers in full, as required by federal law. A written, profuse, and sincere apology to each customer would be a nice value add.

From the Yelp.com link, "John M." says, "The new manager at the place is doing a great job and I actually look forward to seeing him around the building... I also read the comments below from people making complaints and I don't agree with them. I have never had or heard of a problem here."

That is SOOOOOOOO Robert J. Abalos!!

His employer is likely RP Management, Inc. of the same address.

I may be interested in having the Sheriff seize his car to help pay at least something toward the judgment I have against him. Does anyone know if he still drives the gold Nissan that he "bought" from CarMax back in Virginia before heading out to Seattle in 2004? If he's driving something different now, what is it?

You can garnish his wages very easily through the Sheriff.

It looks like Abalos' employer is Seattle Pacific Management:

One of the ads on Craigslist said "Robert, Seattle Pacific Management".

We've all come home today to a note stuck in our doors stating that R.A. was "only the interim-onsite manager" and that, as of 04/16/2009, we have a new manager. I'm sure he'll resurface at one of the other properties Seattle Pacific/RP manages. He's on the run again, people...

Anonymous,

Thank you for the update!!!!

Why do you say "he'll resurface at one of the other properties Seattle Pacific/RP manages"? Did the note say something to that effect?

Do you mind sharing with the community here exactly what the note said?

R.A. was "only the interim-onsite manager"
I wonder, if Abalos forwarded the collected rents to the property management?! Maybe, that was the reason for him being "interim"? His "manager blog" is dead as his previous blogs were ... after just a short time.

I hope other Watermarke residents will chime in and tell us what it was like to have the infamous Robert J. Abalos as the 'interim-onsite manager'.

The note didn't say anything about him still being with "the management company" but "the management company" has a very long history of just moving their managers around once they start having issues in a building. They just remove them from one building and replace them with a fresh manager. Every now and then we get a good one who ends up promoting out of the state to go manage another property in another state.

What was it like having him as a manager? Creepy. Once I knew who he was all I could think about was "this jerk has the keys to my apartment!" I don't know that he ever really moved in, even though he was supposed to be the "resident" manager...I'm pretty sure he'd just sleep on the floor in various empty units. The unit next to me is available, but a few nights ago I heard someone knocking around in there, using the shower and stuff. Pretty sure it was him - I could hear him talking and I recognized his whining, nasal tone even through the wall. And you don't show apartments at 11:00 at night.

The day after he became the manager, the Sheriff's department was leaving cards by the entry way phone, so that's when we knew something was definitely up. And no manager worth their salt lists their hours as "Mon. & Tues. 10:30 am-1:00". 5 hours a week for a manager of a building like this? It takes longer than that to boot up the piece of crap computer they've got up in the office.

Anyway - he's gone now. If he manages another building, I'm sure people will do the same thing I did - Google search him. Hopefully they'll drop a line letting you folks know where he can be found like I did. I hope he was here long enough that *some* of you could get him served or something.

Here's the text of the note (except for the new manager's name and phone number) - verbatim:

Dear Residents,

We are very proud to announce that we have recently hired a new On-Site Resident Manager for the Watermarke apartments, *name excluded*. Robert was our interim manager for the Watermarke until we could find someone that was the perfect fit for the building. We are confident that *name excluded* will be a great asset to the Watermarke and to our residents. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact *name excluded* at *phone number excluded*.

Sincerely,
Management
That's what we found on our door this evening.

Thank you so much for those insights, Anonymous. We sincerely appreciate them -- especially the part about the Sheriff leaving his card by the phone. You'll have to forgive some of us long-timers here for laughing out loud at that one! We're always happy to hear about any law enforcement keeping Robert J. Abalos under pressure.

We hope you can sleep easier now that Abalos is no longer living in your building. And, believe us, we certainly know just how annoying his nasally, whiny voice can be!

Best wishes to you!

I'd like to hear from Anonymous about Abalos' current weight status and if he or she ever saw him wearing leather pants?

Anonymous said...

Weight and leather status sound like something you'd be much more qualified to investigate than me, Anonymous.

Unless that's actually you, dear Robert. And if it is, let me ask you this...what were those people screaming at you about the other day in front of the building? You know - a day or so before you so suddenly left our "Classic" little corner of the world?

Anonymous said...

@Anonymous - did you happen to overhear anything they were screaming at Robert? How many were there? What gender were they? Do tell! :-)

I'm glad I wasn't there to have to hear his annoying voice screaming back at them.....

That wasn't Robert posting - he's too cowardly to post here and respond to direct questions about the money he owes us anymore.

Anonymous said...

@ Anonymous - no, unfortunately I was walking on the other side of the street and was hurrying back to work after a break. All I could hear was the tone of voice; R.A. can only be described as a condescending, arrogant little b*stard. Wish I'd been close enough to hear clearly over the traffic noise. I don't know what he said or did, but those people were up in arms over it, whatever it was.

"R.A. can only be described as a condescending, arrogant little b*stard."

Oh, we've found a few more colorful words to describe him over the years, trust us.

LOL! For the new folks around here, the leather pants comment refers to when Abalos tried to sell his 48-inch (with 31-inch inseam) leather pants on eBay!

http://robertabalosrevealed.blogspot.com/2006/06/fat-leather-pants-for-sale-on-ebay-no.html

It remains one of the RAR community's best moments -- Abalos said the slightly used pants were great for picking up chicks in bars.

New entry on the yelp.com link in this post:

"John M.'s review is a load of bull. That was written by the FORMER "interim manager" of our apartment building who was only here for about three weeks, never moved into the building, and got chased off by a load of people trying to serve him with process papers. The rent here is *not* affordable, the $45 only covers water/sewer/garbage and will probably be going way up because they have to cover a much larger garbage bill with the new ordinance. You have to pay for electricity on your own."

I saw him at the Seattle Public Library JUST NOW! He was posting to his www.robertabalos.com site.

Abalos has now deleted his John M. post on Yelp.com.
