Thanks for the new information revealed here, Ines. It also appears that the state bar of Washington found him to be engaged in the unauthorized practice of law in Washington state, another criminal violation!
When you read through this you realize that Abalos is truly a sick person.
Thank God that they revoked his license. He is truly "unfit" to practice law. He belongs in a padded room in a straight jacket.
Abalos continues to bash real estate gurus but still fails to explain why HE is any different? He sells books, CDs and seminars - how is he any different than these real estate gurus he so heavily criticizes. In fact, what makes John T Reed any different? This "holy than thou" attitude is pure arrogance because Reed makes a living selling books. Other than the price he sells them for, why is he or Abalos any different?

Today he's really grasping at straws again. So he points out that Phyllis Rockower is William Bronchick's mom (note that he never mentions Bronchick by name because Bronchick won a defamation suit against Abalos a year or two ago). Whoopee. What Abalos fails to point out to his supposed audience and supposedly the FTC is that Phyllis Rockower NEVER RECEIVED THE PRODUCT SHE ORDERED FROM ROBERT J. ABALOS and SHE NEVER RECEIVED THE REFUND THAT ROBERT J. ABALOS PROMISED HIS CUSTOMERS THAT HE WOULD PAY.
Who exactly should the FTC be investigating again?
What he also fails to mention is that Ms. Rockower filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General and that Abalos lied to the AG and said she was refunded when in fact she was not!

Abalos will never be able to prove the existence of his BOGUS "Real Estate Magazine".
Many of us have paid for it, NO ONE has ever seen it!
Right, Ines, and failing to deliver a product is a violation of the Federal Trade Commission rules.
So if he REALLY is talking to the FTC (doubtful), we'd be glad to discuss that issue with them.
The FTC is very interested in the book we've put together on Abalos and his illegal sales.

Abalos must be insane! Any intelligent person would know that his strategy of smears and threats won't work! He's trying the same, over, and over again, for almost 5 years, and nothing has changed for him, except ... he's getting more and more desperate!

If the FTC or anyone else ever does contact you, which I doubt, please send them my way. I have hard proof that Abalos was selling stuff on eBay under an assumed name (Robert Avalon!) and not delivering as far back as 2001. Even better, when he was offering refunds to make amends a couple years ago he implicated himself in a long and hilarious email exchange with me, and, guess what: he never sent me my refund as promised either! What a surprise!
If anyone wants to see this stuff ask Ines to put us in contact. It makes for a great read.
It is absolutely hilarious that Abalos is attacking Phyllis Rockower for ordering his product for purposes of "generating genuine documents to use as the basis of public complaints." Translation: she ordered and paid for something in full expectation that he would never deliver it, and he did not disappoint. What an idiot.

I have solid proof (and witnesses who knew him privately) that he was stealing from buyers on eBay and Amazon as far back as the 1990's.
There's NO proof whatsoever that he's ever been a "real estate attorney".
Abalos is constantly attacking all “gurus”, but, of course, can’t answer the question he’s asking, either:
How can he “teach” investing in land when he never owned any land, or any other investment real estate, and is BROKE himself?
Abalos is hiding from his countless creditors behind his P.O. Box for years – the “gurus” he's attacking have a REAL address, REAL products to show, and REAL lives!

Every time he opens his mouth about real estate it becomes more apparent that he never has bought any.
And if he ever has bought any real estate he likely did it by falsifying loan documents like he did on the Nissan Altima he stole from CarMax before he departed Virginia for Seattle. Yes, that's the same Nissan Altima that he used to total some poor Seattle woman's car without having liability insurance coverage as required by Washington state law!
In connection with this accident, Abalos also gave FAKE addresses for his drivers' license (address he was evicted from in 2004) and car registration (Post Office Building address).
Considering that he uses PO Boxes as his ONLY address since 2005, WHO in his/her sane mind would buy from this charlatan?
And, if someone does not check him out before purchasing his "new" book, and gets scammed at the end, expect him/her to be smeared and threatened by this sociopath.
"Intrinsic value" - what an idiot. He talked about that at his Atlanta seminar. He's the only one in the world who talks about intrinsic value to real estate. They teach in appraisal school that EXtrinsic value is the measure for one to four family homes, and only an idiot (like Robert Abalos) would teach otherwise.
Please note that the Atlanta seminar with a DOZEN of attendees was the ONLY known seminar given by "world famous" Abalos. And, it was a total scam!
Can you imagine abalos' whiney little voice on Dateline NBC?? LOL! The producers would kill his segment entirely.
Someone needs to call Dateline NBC and alert them of this fraud. Abalos is (or least tries to be) a real estate guru and then rips people off and has the nerve to speak out against other real estate gurus?
Remember the last time Abalos gave an interview he lied about owning multiple vacation properties. That scam, of course, was exposed on this blog.

I know someone who works for one of the major networks, he can probably put me in touch with the right people at NBC, or at least advise me on how to reach them, so that they hear the full story. That's assuming Abalos is not making the whole thing up as a publicity stunt. I'm pretty sure from the writing style that his confessional letter from an ex-employee of a guru was written by no one other than himself.

Heh. He changed the bit about his name not appearing on the affidavit of service to the following: "NOTICE THIS PROOF WAS SERVED UPON SOMEONE NAMED "HOLLY BAXTER" AND NOT ME AS THE LAW REQUIRES."
The affidavit clearly identifies Holly Baxter as his company's receptionist. Abalos was supposedly an attorney before he was disbarred. Doesn't he know that when you serve a business it suffices to serve a representative?
I thought Abalos never had any staff as far as anyone can tell. I wonder if the receptionist was a clerk at a "Mailboxes Etc." type place where he got his mail.
Ms. Baxter was a receptionist at the Executive Suites where Abalos was renting a space at that time, and was authorized to accept the paperwork for him. Ms. Baxter also confirmed that she gave this paperwork to Abalos. Also, Abalos has confirmed receiving the Notice in several emails I have copies of in my files. He KNEW about the lawsuit, just didn't care to appear - it's his modus operandi to skip the hearings so that he has an excuse of a "default judgment".
Btw, Abalos left this Executive Suites office OWING rent - also, as usual.
I don't read Abalos' blog, because it's the same made-up garbage he's posting for years.
I doubt that his smear and character assassination campaign against me will help him selling any of his "products".
He's got fired as an apartments maintenance man (one of the readers posted this info to the blog) ... then, he was fired from his job as a night clerk at the Seattle Camlin hotel (I have the proof). He's always been, and still is a LOSER.
All his "Esq knowledge" isn't worth a penny, since he wasn't even able to properly handle the Small Claims lawsuits against me AND others.
We'll keep this blog alive - it's a great public service for all people Abalos is planning to scam in the future.

Abalos clearly is reading and revising his blog as a result of what is written here. Too bad for him that it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference. Now he is attempting to show that he issued you a refund voluntarily by writing as follows: "NOTICE THE FORM BELOW SAYS "MERCHANT BANK ACCEPTED THE CLAIM." He really is pretty dumb isn't he! When the merchant bank accepts a chargeback claim it means the customer disputed the charge and the bank honored the dispute. It doesn't indicate in any way that the merchant volunteered a refund. In fact, the next paragraph points out that the merchant is still free to pursue you in court!
Who does Abalos think he is fooling with this nonsense other than himself?

His stupidity here reminds me of the good old days in 2001 when I was getting him thrown off of eBay about once every 24 hours afer he ripped me and several other people off. He kept changing his user ID and (claimed) geographical location, but he was so dumb I could still find him in minutes every time and get him tossed off again!
I am embarassed that the threats he made against me back then when I tried to get my money back actually scared me at first. If I had realized what a colossal idiot I was dealing with I would have been laughing from the very start!

I've requested chargeback for 2 items: The seminar ($995) and the Real Estate Magazine ($79.95). Abalos agreed to the RE Magazine chargeback, since this Magazine has never existed, and he "voluntarily agreed" to that AFTER I've filed a Small Claims lawsuit against him.
But, he declined to refund the $995 for the seminar. So, when I appeared in Small Claims Court in Seattle, the $79.95 that was already credited by the Court date, was deducted from the total of my claim/judgment. And the total of the judgment was $1.43,50 ($995 + Court fees) PLUS 12% interest he owes me on this judgment since 2005!!!
Btw, I've sued NOT Abalos personally, but Abalos DBA Investinginland.com - which was his business, and the receptionist for THIS business was authorized to receive the Notice of Claim, and then forward it to Abalos (which she did, and I can prove it!).
Abalos should have learned it in Law School that I didn't have to chase him personally, especially since I've purchased the both items from his BUSINESS, not from him personally.

Tom, you're not the only one who was scared of this sick sociopath. Read the Order of Revocation - one of the witnesses who's a big young guy was crying when he testified before the VA State Bar. He recalled how scared he was that Abalos will take everything he has, including his home.
P.S.: Please note that my bank credited $995 for the seminar, after I got the judgment, but Abalos still owes the court fees and interest on this judgment.
Also, the 2nd judgment is open - when HE sued me, lied in court, asked to post-pone, then didn't appear ... and he owes me $2,250 plus 12% interest since Jan 2007 on this judgment.
Abalos also forged Proof of service, claiming that I've received the Notice BEFORE it was even issued by the Court.
Abalos is a serial LIAR. DO NOT trust his promises to deliver ANYTHING!

A source is telling me that a criminal defense attorney here in Seattle may be representing Robert J. Abalos. The source's information isn't 100% clear, but there is some kind of connection between the two.
What's interesting to me is that the attorney is a criminal defense attorney. Given that Abalos hasn't updated his blog in over a week, could it be that Abalos has been arrested for some reason? Why else would he need a criminal defense attorney? Perhaps the defense attorney is court-appointed?
That's all I can say at this point. Does anyone else have any information that points to Abalos recently being in trouble with the law?

Abalos frequently goes back and deletes blog postings that don't match his current warped view of reality. One thing he hasn't taken down yet is his posting of March 9 in which he wrote:
"On the advice of the law enforcement agencies involved I will have no further public comments of any kind on Ines Romischer. [...] I will not read what she writes nor mention her name again in this blog."
Funny, he doesn't seem to do a very good job of following this "law enforcement" advice - he won't shut up about you!
Keep it up Ines, the more he babbles incoherently like this the clearer it will be to the public what a sick and pathetic individual he is.
I do hope something comes of the lead suggesting he is facing some sort of criminal prosecution. If anyone can get more details it might be possible for all of us to add to the criminal complaint.

Everyone here has a first amendment right to post what they want and if Robert J. Abalos doesn't like it he can file a case for defamation and seek damages. He's had 5 years to do that and he hasn't. Wonder why?
A. He'd have to give up his address
B. He'd have to answer questions under oath.
C. He'd have to prove he's got a good reputation to begin with and he couldn't handle the dozens of people who would come out and testify against him.

Regarding “A”: Abalos could get away with his POBox address, when he sued me, claiming death threats against his person – he could use this tactics, again;
Re “B”: Lying under oath? That wouldn’t be a problem for Abalos, either – the court hearings posted to this blog show that he’s lying under oath all over again.
And, it is true: There is no criminal investigation, no criminal complaint, no charges filed, etc. – nothing! I’d be happy to speak with any investigator, at any time. Abalos is the one who’s hiding!

Actually, there's a third choice. He could do the right thing and refund everyone the money he stole from them when he failed to deliver the products and services that he sold them.

What is he trying to prove by posting my email to the 2 ladies at the WA State Bar?
They have tried to deliver a Cease and Desist Order to his POBox, which he didn't pick up, and it was returned to the WA State Bar. So, later I just informed them that Ron Brown's letter was delivered to the same POBox address as they have tried to deliver. This coward lives in hiding, he's the one who fears the authorities, not us :-)
Btw, I have the copy of this C&D Order. It's clear that he's stopped claiming that he's a licensed attorney, because UNLAWFUL practice of law in the State of WA is a crime. He also cannot use "Esq.", since he's a NOBODY now.

Its almost June Bobby. Where's the new book? Is it still in progress like all of your other promises? And why would it need updating if you haven't done anything?
Not having done anything didn't stop Abalos to write his "world famous/most widely sold" [and even more often not delivered] pamphlet years ago, by using OTHER people's experiences.
When he was working as a night clerk at the Seattle Camlin hotel, all he did was reading real estate articles, and posting BS to his blog.
Is Abalos next?

Wow, eerily similar to Abalos. But, they are different in that Titus "owned a successful law practice for around 15 years and held real estate investment seminars across the country before the Virginia State Bar revoked his license..." Abalos never had a successful law practice for even one year. He also never held real estate investment seminars across the country; he only did that one seminar in Atlanta in 2005 and that backfired on him completely. Abalos isn't even a competent "economic sociopath". He can't do anything right.

Breaking news- Abalos removes all vestiges of his "fan club" from his website.
Doesn't matter - nobody's reading what he's writing anyway. Traffic counter sites show that his blog doesn't get 1/100th the traffic that this blog does. He really should never have ripped off his customers all those years ago. Not a very bright guy.
Sounds to me like Robert Abalos is angling for the job as onsite building manager at 1820 East Thomas Street.
It looks like Abalos got scared, and had to remove all the "prosecution" threats against me and others.
It doesn't mean that he wouldn't try to do it again, over and over as he did it for years.
I have it on good authority that the Massachusetts Bar is looking into Robert Abalos' conduct this week in accordance with the Order of Revocation from the Virginia Bar in March 2008. LOL! He's postponed the re-launch of Investinginland.com yet again and now claims that everything on it will be free because that's the way he wants it - that's code for "I still won't have an updated version of the book to sell".
To me it looks like his investinginland.com is dead. it's just a parked web page now.
Not how Abalos criticizes the gurus who are broke now that the economy is down, but what about when the economy peaked in 2005/2006? Where was Robert Abalos?

- Evicted from his apartment
- Made no money
- Not working a job
- Neither bought nor owned any real estate during the boom
- Defaulted on his office lease
- Hiding from creditors
If that was during the GOOD TIMES, imagine what Robert Abalos is doing now!
He's obviously talking about Ron Legrand who got into some bad business deals that may wipe him out. But Ron is a winner and will bounce back and make it all back whereas Robert Abalos never made any money nor will make any money because he's a loser.
Good Lord what a prick Abalos is! He's completely unsympathetic to mentally ill and helpless homeless people in downtown Seattle and cheering on the financial failure of once successful businessmen and women in real estate. What's next? Is he going to dance on Mother Teresa's grave? What an asshole! He sounds like a right-wing neocon loser to me. Personally I think he's closer to homelessness and financial ruin than he likes to admit and so he's striking out at others to deflect the focus away from him even if it's just in his own head. He's a sick, sick man!
